Professional Background
Heather LaVigne’s legal practice has focused on administrative law, litigation, and attorney ethics. Upon graduating from Boston College Law School, Heather worked as a litigation associate at Choate, Hall, & Stewart, LLP. She then served as an administrative hearing officer and counsel for the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities where she presided over administrative adjudicatory hearings, drafted regulations, and provided counsel on issues relating to administrative law and utility law. She is currently an Assistant Bar Counsel for the Massachusetts Office of Bar Counsel where she primarily investigates and prosecutes complaints against Massachusetts attorneys for violations of ethical rules. Heather also frequently provides continuing legal education to the bar regarding professional responsibility, ethics, and lawyer discipline.
