Professional Background
Ken Woodland is presently the Chief of the Bureau of Municipal Finance Law where he drafts and reviews legislation, agency advisories, opinions, guidelines and other statements interpreting municipal tax and finance laws and explaining agency policies to local officials. Upon graduating from law school, Woodland spent several years litigating in Massachusetts state courts focusing on civil litigation and criminal defense. Thereafter, he started his career with the Massachusetts Department of Revenue's Division of Local Services. Woodland also served as a Town Councilor in his hometown of Watertown from 2012-2021.
