From 2003 to 2020, Richard Heller served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Legal Sea Foods, a nationally recognized seafood restaurant company, during which time he was responsible for all legal activities with a focus on real estate and human resources, and oversight of various corporate functions as needed, including Construction and Guest Relations. Prior to his tenure at Legal Sea Foods, Richard was a founding partner of a boutique law firm with a focus on business and corporate law; representing emerging business in hi-tech, retail, hospitality, manufacturing, and real estate law, including conveyancing, commercial lending, and leasing.
In addition to his current position as "Of Counsel" to Sherin and Lodgen, LLP, Richard also serves as Principal and Founder of two consulting firms, Roberts & Heller, LLC, and Pineapple Hospitality Consulting Group, LLC, to provide “soup to nuts” consulting services to restaurants, e-commerce businesses, and hotels, including, without limitation, legal services (contracts and general business advice) and permitting assistance, financial and operational guidance, human resource assistance, and advising on ADA and accessibility issues. He serves on several non-profit Boards, and he is Chair of the Board of Trustees of New England College of Optometry.
