Getting Started

Before starting your housing search, a simple evaluation of your housing needs will help you streamline your efforts.

The Housing Search

Are you ready to begin your search? Here are some tips and resources that will help you as you look for an apartment in Boston.

Boston Neighborhoods

The city of Boston and its surrounding communities can be divided into three areas: The City, Inner Suburbs, and Outer Suburbs. To find out more about these three areas and the communities within each, please visit our Housing Portal.

Transportation

Located in the heart of Boston, New England Law | Boston is easily accessible by multiple forms of transportation. See our transportation page for specific information.

Leasing Information

Once you’ve found an apartment that you feel is right for you, you’ll need to consider various issues before signing a lease.

Finding a Roommate

To help offset some of your housing costs, you may want to find an apartment with a fellow student. New England Law has partnered with VeryApt to offer additional housing resources to help you with your housing search. This includes a Discussion Board where students can connect with one another and find roommates.

Rental Listings

The information we provide on available rental space includes apartments and rooms that have been submitted to the New England Law | Boston Office of Admissions. Listings are submitted by current students looking for a roommate, alumni, landlords, and realtors. This list is updated frequently, so check back often.

The list includes:

  • Summer/short term subleases – The apartment is only available for a set period of time, usually ending in August.
  • Sublease-to-lease – The apartment is available as a sublet for a few months with the option to sign a lease at the end of the sublet period.
  • Initial Lease – You sign a new 12- or 13-month lease before moving in.

If you rent an apartment or room from the list, please contact the Office of Admissions at admit@nesl.edu or 617-422-7210 so the listing can be removed.

We also provide a list of rental agents who have contacted our offices and worked with our students.

Please note: New England Law | Boston and its representatives do not recommend or endorse any specific apartment, rental agent, or landlord listings.

The Housing Program serves as a clearinghouse for apartment listings and provides general information about the Boston housing market. New England Law | Boston and its representatives do not recommend or endorse any specific apartments, rental agents, or landlord listings. Students are expected to find apartments and make their own living arrangements. New England Law | Boston also does not endorse or recommend hotels or gyms listed anywhere on this site.
