New England Law | Boston is welcoming its new class of first-year law students to campus, and there is excitement among faculty and staff as we get the fall semester underway.

What makes New England Law special is not just the powerful combination of rigorous academics, welcoming community, and access to practical legal experience. It’s the unique experiences and perspectives that each student, faculty and staff member bring to the institution each day, creating a dynamic environment that addresses a full spectrum of legal interests, backgrounds, and ambitions.  

Some notable facts about the incoming 1L class of New England Law: 

• The class represents 233 different colleges & universities 

• 15 percent of the class hold graduate degrees 

• 35 percent of the class come from Massachusetts, 58 percent from other U.S. states, and 7 percent from outside of the U.S. 

• Students range in age from 20 to 54 years old 

• 27 percent of the class are First Generation students – the first in their family to attend college or law school 

• 96 percent of the 1L class are receiving scholarships to attend New England Law 

Once this exceptional 1L class is off and running, they will find a variety of opportunities to develop their skills and impact the community around them. These include multiple clinic and externship possibilities, a summer fellowship program, pro bono and public service opportunities, international programs, and more. Through these offerings, New England Law students are empowered to lean into their career development, leverage the deep wealth of experience across the campus and the city, and truly find the areas of the legal profession that interest them the most. 

And our students will find that their journey with New England Law won’t end at Commencement. A network of 12,000+ alumni, active in law, business, and government in every U.S. state and 29 countries, is ready to support students as they embark on their career paths.
